Happy Holidays from the Future!

As the time escapes me to release part 135 of A Visitor to the Future before the end of the year, please enjoy the Consortium-themed winter poem below. As far as news goes I'm working on getting more free time to write, so please look forward to updates in the new year!

The Solstice approaches quickly,
That dark time on Earth,
Where the northern hemisphere is shaded,
And fires burn in each hearth.

Though not all places in Sol,
Are at this time bleak,
We assemble together,
And share laughter and treats.

On Luna they dance and sing of snow,
A treat they must visit Earth to know,
In years past, a luxury - now a breeze,
Just watch out for the cold - take care where you sneeze!

Mars celebrates in tunnel and tower,
The occasion marked by brilliant-white flowers,
Worn on the lapel, in buttonholes or clasps,
Seyhoo to all! Party at the ice-caps.

Eru Ilúvatar stops, academics at rest,
The unofficial capital still for a breath,
Universities close, libraries pause,
The archives are silent to all who would call.

Jupiter, by jovian! The moons run riot,
Festivals that know not the meaning of quiet!
Except Europa, left alone, left quiet and sparse,
Ice shining in the night with a mysterious heart.

Thousands of habitats, all within at play,
Marking the occasion in their own way,
Cultures varied, diverse, each share in cheer,
Using the Solstice to mark the end of another year.

And on a ship sailing through the inner solar system,
A group assembles and chatters, if you'd care to listen,
Sharing, celebrating, filling brains and circuits with warmth,
Feelings I sincerely wish for you all.

Happy holidays!
